The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), Islamabad has started work in April 2011 and at first it was involved with the Ministry of Education to deliver educational assistance at numerous stages in ICT. Afterwards it started work with department of Capital Administration & Development Division (CA&DD) which further changed to Ministry of Capital Administration & Development from May 2012.
FDE aims to deliver educational facilities in an encouraging environment with emphasis on academic superiority, knowledge excellence and increasing a sense of determination and greatest accomplishment with the broad vision.
FDE has been functioning in collaboration with numerous well-known National and International organizations which are working to promote education and aims to provide quality of education under its jurisdiction. Among of them UNESCO, USAID, Intel Corp, Microsoft, ESRA, ED-Link, CGN, AEPAM etc. are most common organizations.
FDE also working on several innovative projects which are Multipurpose Resource Centers (MRCs), Equipment’s in MRCs etc.
These projects provide facilities in teacher training and networking, lesson planning and low-cost resources development, training and experience sharing, skills training for public (dress-making, henna painting, fabric-dyeing and painting, candle-making, etc.)
It also deliver computer skills training to community members and students, arts and Crafts workshops for students and communal members, civic education, multimedia educational software assets and literacy classes for PTA & community members.
